I saw someone recommended Mackinac Island, MI, so I thought I’d throw Ann Arbor into the mix. Definitely worth a stop if you make it up here. Compared to Knoxville? Better restaurants/breweries, little bit more pedestrian/bike/dog-friendly. I moved up here from Knoxville (temporarily) for grad school and stopped regretting it once the snow melted and the sun came back out. Spring/summer is beautiful – stay far, far away the rest of the year.
I was going to head west, but I’m thinking it’s too hot to take the route along I40 that I’d first considered. Maybe I’llmake it up that way this stummer.
